Two insights I learned as a nun about practicing mindful stillness:
Being comfortable with silence. It is a silence that is nurturing. Not all silence is equal. Some silence can be detrimental (e.g., giving someone the “cold shoulder” with an unhealthy silence).
Feeling at home with yourself. Being self-aware allows you to be still without judgment.
