Hi, y’all,
One thing I learned as a nun is that when life becomes overwhelming, tiny steps of micro-mindfulness can have a great impact on your life.
Today, I want to share three mindfulness steps to help you cultivate inner peace when stress, work, or life overwhelms you. Remember, you don’t have to be a nun or monk or join any religion to practice mindfulness. Inner peace is already within you. Mindfulness is one of the ways that can help nourish its strength and calm.
Let’s dive in.
First, some easy micro-mindfulness tips – actions you can do in less than 3-7 minutes at a time.
Micro-Mindfulness Tips

Are you feeling overwhelmed? Pause and offer yourself some grace. Acknowledge your efforts and remind yourself that perfection isn't the goal.
Feel gratitude for the ability to move and walk. A simple walk can be a profound reminder of physical health and freedom.
Regularly reassess your “frogs.” What seemed important a month ago might not be today. Keep your challenges relevant.
In a world of distractions, staying focused on your true north is critical to success. Take time each day to realign and refocus on your goals.

3 Steps to Help You Cultivate Inner Peace When Life Becomes Overwhelming
Mindfulness is one of the ways to finding inner peace.
One thing I learned as a nun is when life becomes overwhelming, tiny steps of micro-mindfulness can have a significant impact.
Micro-mindfulness practices are steady, brief moments of intention and presence throughout your day to help keep you grounded when stress becomes too much.
Here are three mindfulness steps to help you navigate life with grace and resilience.
#1. Embrace Stillness
The first step to cultivating inner peace is embracing stillness. Taking a few minutes each day to sit in silence can help you reconnect with your inner self and reduce overwhelming feelings.
Tip: Give yourself a two-minute timeout today to be present to the stillness within you.
#2. Practice Mindful Breathing
Mindful breathing is a powerful tool for calming your mind. By focusing on your breath, you can anchor yourself in the present moment, away from the chaos of racing thoughts.
Tip: Pause for one minute today and focus on your breathing.
#3. Cultivate Gratitude
Exercising gratitude is a proven way to reduce stress and boost happiness. By consciously acknowledging the good in your life, you can shift your focus from your problems to your blessings.
